Free Webinar: Talking to Your Kids about Peer Pressure and Bullying

On August 15 at 1:00 PM (EDT), Community Health Charities will partner with the Mental Health Association of Maryland to present a nationwide webinar on  “Talking to Your Kids About Peer Pressure and Bullying.”

Bullying matters.  We’ve seen it in the news and research supports the stories: bullying can have a long-term impact on the mental health of a child. Low self-esteem, increased anxiety, higher incidence of depression and even suicide have all been linked to bullying. Please join this webinar to learn more about this important topic, including:

·         What parents should look for

·         How to talk to your kids about bullying

·         What  to do if your child is the bully

·         How to increase your child’s resiliency

·         How to address mental health problems and suicide

Presenter Lea Ann Browning-McNee is Deputy Director of the Mental Health Association of Maryland. She leads the Mental Health First Aid program in the state of Maryland and is part of the national management team of Mental Health First Aid USA, where she recently co-developed a comprehensive youth curriculum. She is also adjunct faculty at George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.
