Community Health Charities Florida August Newsletter 2012

Wellness Challenge

Stress may contribute to:

A. High blood pressure

B. Heart disease and stroke

C. Stomach problems

D. All of the above

Answer: D. All of the above. A survey of Americans found that one-third of people are living with extreme stress. If you feel overwhelmed, unable to cope and feel as though your stress is affecting how you function every day, it could be something more like depression or anxiety.

Stress can be toxic to your body so don’t let it go unchecked!  Contact your healthcare practitioner for help.

If you find that your stress is affecting you at work, contact Mental Health America at www.mentalhealthamerica.netfor more information or referrals to local services, and to understand your rights in the workplace.
